Where to eat / have a drink:
If you tell a friend that you're going to Budapest, they will tell you "OMG you must go to Szimpla !". Yes this is the reaction anyone familiar with this place will have. You'll see it's contagious... Day time or nightlife, Szimpla is a ruins pub with music, food, market & a garden. different floors, different atmosphere, a bike hanging here, a ladder hanging there.
They have the best Mojitos & BLC sandwich!
It is a mix match of second hand furniture that makes this place unique. Order their club sandwich with a glass of red, the kitchen is open and service very fast. If you worry to be on your own, don't worry it won't last, you will make friends easily! At night, the music gets louder and the place crowded. Time to move onto the next place, Instant Ruin Pub . This place is a similar concept but more of a nightclub laster on, with a proper dance-floor.
Nothing better than spending your Sunday morning at the Széchenyi Thermal Bath . The entrance is located after the Heroes Square . You can buy different passes for half day, full day with massages etc. There is one area to relax and one to swim labs. By the statue you will see the locals playing chess for hours, not disturbed at all by the presence of tourists.
Where to eat:
After a nice relaxing time at the bath, it's time to refuel before going back to the airport. Fruccola is the most healthy / quirky place in Budapest. Any young locals or tourists will gather with friends for a nice meal. Veggies, Vegan, Carnivore, there is choice for everyone! you can compose your own salad or decide from the menu. Fresh juices are a must!
